Our new arrival...

We have a new member of our family to introduce you to!  Holly our puppy. We have had her for six weeks now and she is settling in well, I'm sure you will get to meet her at some stage. She is very friendly and keeping me very busy! Having Holly has meant I've had plenty of excuses to go for a walk on the beach! We are so lucky that we have so many dog friendly beaches so close by. Her first experience of a beach was Sandsend, only a 10 minute drive from us. She was in her element there, fussing everyone she came across whether they liked it or not! There were plenty of other dogs around too so she had a good run around with them all and was totally worn out by the end of it! Perfect as then she slept for the rest of the day! Since then she's been to Runswick Bay, we had lunch at The Cliffemount hotel on top of the cliff first, fantastic garden with breathtaking views across the bay. Can highly recommend it for lunch, a coffee or something stronger.  A lovely beach to take your dog to and for fossil hunting too! This weekend we ventured a bit further and went to Robin Hoods Bay, one of my favourite places to visit, again not too far from us just a 20 minute drive away. It was a beautiful day, so warm. Lots of families enjoying the first taste of Summer. Plenty of dogs for Holly to play with. I had hoped we would have enough time to walk along the beach to the Youth Hostel at Boggle Hall for a coffee before the tide was too far in, but with all of the playing and chatting we didn't quite make it. I didn't miss out on my coffee though, had one from The Bay Hotel, this is where you often see people celebrating the end of their coast to coast walk. A great place to sit outside and watch the comings and goings in the Bay. A perfect morning! Our next beach to take her to is Skiningrove which is one of those places not many people know about but it has the most wonderful stretch of beach.

Happy days...

Sally
