Spring has finally arrived!

Spring has finally arrived!

Spring has finally arrived!

Well we finally seem to be having some warmer weather, which will help us get the camping fields dried out finally! We have managed to give them their first cut, only just! We have been busy trying to repaint the outside of the toilet block in between the snow showers! I quite enjoy the painting but the preparation does seem to take rather a long time!

We gave ourselves the bank holiday weekend off from DIY ( and we did have guests on the site) and managed to enjoy a few days out and about. I had a good friend from London here for the weekend so it was also a good excuse to show her around. We enjoyed a lovely walk on Saltburn beach, the tide was going out so it gave us a chance to wander around the rock pools looking for crabs, which we saw a few. After the walk we thought we had earned fish & chips for our lunch, sat on a bench looking out to sea and enjoying the welcome sunshine whilst we enjoyed our fish & chips. There were plenty of families enjoying the beach and the donkeys were kept busy taking children for rides along the beach.

Sunday was the highlight of the weekend as it was time for the Tour de Yorkshire to come through the National Park. We had roadside seats reserved in Castleton outside a friend of mines house. So we all sat there with a glass of prosecco in hand and cheered the riders on as they came flying down Castleton high street after their hard cycle down from Blakey. It was a lovely atmosphere, enjoyed by everyone.

Bank holiday Monday arrived looking rather grim but that had certainly changed by the afternoon. We were able to enjoy a lovely wander around Whitby taking in the sites and I also had my first ice cream of the year! Looking forward to a few more...
